DriveTV Privacy Policy
Updated October 19, 2026
DriveTV is a media player for iPhone and CarPlay. It plays content that you add yourself. Your library and passwords stay on your iPhone. We collect a small amount of usage data to improve the app and to measure our advertising, as described below.
What we collect
DriveTV has no account system, shows no ads, and we do not run servers that store your library. We use these services:
- Google Analytics for Firebase — app usage events, such as "a playlist was added", "playback started in the car" or "the upgrade screen was shown", plus device type, iOS version, app version and approximate country.
- Meta (Facebook) SDK and TikTok Business SDK — app installs, opens and purchases, so we can tell which of our ads on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok brought people to DriveTV.
These events never include the names of channels or videos, playlist or server addresses, user names, passwords, or anything you type.
Tracking and your choice
DriveTV asks for permission before using your device's advertising identifier. If you allow it, the advertising identifier is shared with Meta, TikTok and Google to attribute installs and purchases to our ads. If you don't allow it, the identifier is not used, and those services measure ads only through Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork. Your choice doesn't change any features. You can change it at any time in iPhone Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Each service handles data under its own policy: Google, Meta, TikTok.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your library: playlists, channels and videos you add, favorites, and playback progress.
- Passwords and sign-in tokens for Xtream accounts and media servers (Jellyfin, Emby), kept in the iOS Keychain. They are never written to the library files or sent to your car.
- Videos and subtitle files you import.
Deleting the app deletes all of this.
Connections the app makes
- Services you add. To import and play content, DriveTV connects directly to the playlist addresses, Xtream servers and media servers you enter. Those services receive the requests they need, including your sign-in details, under their own privacy policies.
- Your car and local network. To show video in your car and to receive casts from other apps, DriveTV serves media to devices on your local network, such as your car's head unit. Only devices on the same network can reach it, and only while you use these features.
- Screen mirroring. Your screen is recorded only after you start a system screen broadcast. The picture is kept briefly on your iPhone to send to the car and deleted when you stop. The microphone is never recorded.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are handled by Apple. We do not see your payment details. The app checks with the App Store whether DriveTV Pro is unlocked. Which product was bought and its price are sent to the services above to measure our ads.
Crash reports
If DriveTV crashes or freezes, iOS may create a diagnostic report on your iPhone. It contains no titles, addresses or account details, and it leaves your iPhone only if you choose to send it to us. If you share diagnostics with app developers in iOS Settings, Apple may share crash data with us under Apple's terms.
Children
DriveTV is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above.
